Blow Paint Monsters

Today is a rainy day activity kind of day.  I did this craft with my kids a little while ago (we saw it in Family Fun Magazine), and they loved it!  Hey, what kid wouldn't love blowing paint around with a straw?  Instant mess!  What I loved about it, was that we only needed some of the most basic supplies.

To make blow paint monsters you need large sheets of paper, paint, small bowls, spoons, straws, markers, glue, googly eyes and some old newspaper (to cover your work surface).

Fill your small bowls with paint and enough water to make it a more watery consistency.  Spoon a small amount of paint onto the paper and have your child point the straw at the paint, then blow.  The paint should splatter and create a funky blob that can be turned into a cool paint monster.

After the paint dries, the kids can add googly eyes to their monsters and use markers to add funny horns and crazy arms.  My kids spent so much time doing this and had a lot of fun with it.  I think they turned out really cute!

  3. Kimberly,

I think that this is a really cute idea. I wonder what Danny & Michael woul do if I was brave enough to try this. I will have to think about it, but your craft ideas and especially the invitations are so creative that they would be fantastic as a custom order for people who are not gifted in the craft area (me)
