Summer Vacation Fun! Part 2

I took so many pictures, I had to break our vacation into parts!  The second part of our family vacation took us to one of our all-time favorite places - Dutch Wonderland in Lancaster, Pennsylvania!

We've been visiting Dutch Wonderland for a few years now and the kids still really enjoy it.  As they are getting older, they enjoy being able to do rides by themselves and get around more at Duke's Lagoon (water section of the park), including the big tube water slides.

The kids' favorite ride is the Spinning Turtles, although I think I'm getting a little too old to continue riding the turtles.  They also enjoy the log ride, train ride, pedal trains, giant fun slide, and the sky ride.  Here are a few of my favorite pics from our most recent trip.

If you have young children and have never been to Dutch Wonderland, put it on your list!  If you live in the Baltimore area, it's the perfect day trip since it's only about an hour and a half away.  We even opted for the season passes this year and have already been at least 5 times this summer.  The park is a good size to not be too overwhelming and has lots of different activities to keep kids of all ages happy.

Summer Vacation Fun! Part 1

Hi everyone!  I took a little break to go on vacation with the family.  We just got back, but I wanted to take a minute to share a few pics of all the fun we had!

The first part of our little vacation took us to Lancaster, Pennsylvania.  We visited Cherry Crest Adventure Farm.  We've been once before and the kids loved it again.  There's so much to do and the activities are well spread out that it never seems over-crowded.

There is a petting farm with goats, sheep, pigs, ponies, and chickens.  There is even a spot where the kids can hold new born baby chicks.

The most fun part at Cherry Crest for the kids is the Barnyard.  It's like a big playground at the farm with a huge bounce pillow, water table, giant slide, rope maze, sandbox, duck racing, tractor wagon pull and more!

The kids also loved watching the trains ride by from the Strasburg Railroad, although my daughter thought the train whistle was much too loud!

My favorite part is the historical tractor ride around the farm.  It's really neat to hear the history of the farm and the Amish people who helped to build that land, and a wonderful chance for mom and dad to take a 15 minute rest.

We definitely plan on making Cherry Crest Farm a family tradition.  When the kids are older, we will visit and try out one of the most amazing corn mazes around.  You can visit their website for all the details - Cherry Crest Adventure Farm
